Applegate, K. (2015). Crenshaw. NY: Feiwel and Friends. Jackson is a boy that has many life struggles. At his young age, he struggles with poverty and wonders why he has to go through that. As a result, he conjures up an imaginary cat named Crenshaw. Crenshaw appears in his life only when problems arise. Crenshaw seems to distract Jackson from thinking about his problems. However, at the end Jackson gets tired of their life situation and lets his parents know. I really enjoyed this book. It made me think of the problems that small children have to endure.
