After a terrible drought struck the Native American people. They prayed to their Gods for guidance. According to the elders, someone in the village had to give up one of their most cherished possessions to end the drought. A young girl in the village gave up her doll. She burned it in a field and then it rained. After the rain, several bluebonnets appeared in the spot where she sacrificed her doll.
