Curtis, Christopher P. (1995). The Watsons Go To Birmingham-1963. NY: Delacorte Press

This novel is about a young boy named Kenny. He and his family moved to Michigan from Atlanta and endured the cold winters of Flint, Michigan. However, because Byron, his brother was misbehaving, their parents decided to move the family to Birmingham, while there they experienced the hated toward the colored people. They almost lost his little sister, Joetta, to a church bombing. This really changed the way that Byron and Kenny looked at life and their lives were never the same.

I really enjoyed this book.
